Adidas' Tour360 4.0 features PrideSports technology

Brentwood, Tennessee, October 19, 2009 … In conjunction with the debut of adidas Golf’s revolutionary new TOUR360 4.0 golf shoe, PrideSports, maker of Softspikes® cleats, the #1 cleat brand on TOUR, today announced that the Company’s proprietary new THiNTech cleat design will be used as original equipment in the new shoe line. PrideSports has also announced that it will introduce an aftermarket version of the cleat, which will join the Company’s stable of industry leading cleat models, including the new Black Widow® Tour™, golf’s first adjustable cleat, and Pulsar®, the #1 Cleat on Tour.
“PrideSports is extremely excited to partner with adidas Golf in developing an innovative cleat to serve as original equipment in the TOUR360 4.0 golf shoe line,” said John Hohman, Vice President of Marketing, PrideSports. “We are equally excited to support this new shoe line with an aftermarket cleat introduction that will greatly enhance our existing portfolio of products that today stands as the best selling cleat line in the world.”
Enhancing its alliance with adidas Golf, PrideSports’ new cleat design is the perfect complement to the TOUR360 4.0 golf shoe. Recently launched, and currently being worn by a stable of PGA TOUR players, the TOUR360 4.0 is the first golf shoe to incorporate adidas Golf’s advanced THiNTech low-profile technology, which brings golfers lower to the ground for improved overall balance, weight transfer, stability, power and consistency.
The new TOUR360 4.0 utilizes a proprietary new low-profile outsole system called Advanced THiNTech with PINS (Performance Insert System). By working closely with professional athletes around the world and across all sports categories, the adidas Golf team discovered immediate performance advantages in getting the golfer lower, but was previously limited in how low they could go. In collaborating with PrideSports, adidas Golf created an entirely-new insert system that combines the advanced THiNTech cleat with the new, ultra-thin cleat attachment mechanism.
PrideSports was formed in January 2003 following Pride Manufacturing Company’s purchase of Softspikes, Inc., and its sister company Trisport, Ltd. of England. This acquisition essentially formed the world’s premier golf accessories company, as Pride and Softspikes are the world’s leading golf tee and golf cleat lines, respectively. Today, PrideSports is the world leader in the design and manufacture of cleats, spikes and receptacles for the entire golf footwear industry.
