Arizona State Retains Top Spot in D-I Poll

NEW YORK, NY-The second Golf World/NGCA Division I Coaches’ Poll of the fall season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine and the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA). The complete results, including results from Divisions II and III, will appear in the November 9 issue of Golf World and can be viewed online now at www.golfworld.com.

Arizona State remained the No. 1 team in the poll, earning 25 of the 42 first-place votes. The Sun Devils took the team title at the Stanford Collegiate, their second victory of the season, before closing out the fall schedule with a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Fall Preview.

UCLA and Purdue moved into the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, after being ranked Nos. 7 and 13, respectively, in the previous coaches’ poll. Rounding out the top-five are Auburn (No. 4) and Michigan State (No. 5). The Tigers shared runner-up honors at the NCAA Preview while the Spartans won twice this fall.

Vanderbilt (T-14), Louisville (No. 18), Texas A&M (No. 23), Stanford (No. 24) and Texas (No. 25) moved into the top-25.
