Golf’s Hottest New Website Discusses Keys to Proper Nutrition for Playing Competitive Golf
JACKSONVILLE, Fl (November 3, 2009) – When playing competitive golf at a high level, there are many ingredients to building a successful game. Of course, No. 1 on the list is your ability to strike the ball well. But good golf instructors will also say you have to be strong mentally, and you must eat a proper diet.
The Tour Resource Center, http://www.tourresourcecenter.com, one of the hottest golf sites on the internet continues to add content with the latest addition being nutrition for golfers. As a resource golfers can tap into, The Tour Resource Center will periodically add content about nutrition from a variety of experts, and let the user get a “taste” of what each has to say.
First up is Mary Galvano, a former touring professional and now an LPGA Class A Teaching Professional, Galvano’s article on nutrition is titled: “Winning Nutrition for Competitive Golfers” and it addresses the importance of eating and drinking properly before, during, and after a competitive round of golf.
“First, a golfer needs to start the day with enough fuel to last a 4-hour round of golf. The concern is not low fat or low calories, but rather if it is enough to keep you healthy and your brain focused,” blogs Galvano. “For example: a low fat yogurt is a great snack but not a complete breakfast. If you take that same yogurt and add an egg or some whole grains, such as oatmeal, then you have a great breakfast!”
To help golfers plan a great menu, TRC members can access her meal plan. Galvano, who authored the book, “Ladies, Get a Grip: Playing Golf for Business and Pleasure The Feminine Way”, also lists other resources for golfers to visit to help them understand the importance of proper nutrition and how to create a meal plan designed for playing competitive golf.
Win an iPod Nano
Tour Resource Center is running a contest “Golf Tips From Real Players to Real Players” for all golfers in which the winner receives an iPod Nano and five (5) runners-up receive a $25 iTunes gift card. Golfers are invited to submit their favorite golf tip, and the winning entry will be determined by a panel of TRC staff and tour directors from around the U.S. The contest runs through November 21, 2009 and the winner will be announced on 28, 2009.
