THP announces the winner of one contest and starts another
TAMPA BAY, FL – (November 2, 2009) – The Hackers Paradise (www.thehackersparadise.com), the premier destination on the internet to discuss all things golf, announced the winner of its “Huge PGA Merchandise Show Contest,” For the past six weeks, forum members have had an opportunity to send in a short essay for a chance to accompany TEAM THP to the 2010 PGA Merchandise Show as a member of the working media. Forum member “Harry Longshanks” won the competition as voted by the readers and will receive airfare, hotel accommodations, tickets to the THP dinner and an opportunity to attend the PGA Show in Orlando.
“Other than a annual charity raffle where we help support multiple charities this was the biggest and most well received contest we have done,” said THP president Josh Babbitt. “We were blown away by the number of creative entries we received. In the end, our readers will benefit from the additional man power in Orlando as Team THP will be able to provide unparalleled news coverage from different perspectives.”
While the site announced the winner receiving Airfare, Hotel Accommodations, and Tickets to the THP Dinner, as well as media passes to the PGA Merchandise Show as part of the team, they also announced another Huge Contest going on right now. The Hackers Paradise is giving away a brand new OnPar GPS to one lucky forum member simply by playing the OnPar & THP Scavenger Hunt, getting the questions answered, and then being the chosen entry to receive the prize. Contest ends November 10th, 2009.
“We love having the ability to give back to the readers and we know that no other site gives what we do,” added Morgan Babbitt. “However we try to develop contest ideas to help the companies that we work with in a marketing sense, drive traffic to their site, and brand awareness. This contest has traffic near an all time high, which in turn is sending people to the OnPar GPS site as well.”
The Hackers Paradise is quickly becoming the destination for consumers to read about the world of golf equipment, apparel, and accessories while at the same time having a blast entering some fun contests and winning some great stuff along the way. So many websites now are throwing traffic numbers up at companies to try and draw them in to advertising dollars. THP has no advertising by policy, so the smoke and mirrors is not necessary.
THP, which launched its online forum in October 2008, is adding new members daily and has quickly become the online home to golf enthusiasts across the country garnering more than 50,000 unique visitors per month ever since holding its Huge Charity Raffle http://thehackersparadise.com/home/?p=2113 earlier this year.
Unlike other golf websites, THP produces original reviews daily ranging from the latest in men’s and women’s equipment, apparel, accessories, footwear, tees, distance measuring devices, instructional aids and more. Because THP does not accept advertising from OEM’s or other golf-related companies, readers can be sure each review is thorough and unbiased. Earlier this year, THP announced the arrival of its inaugural golf magazine, which will debut in December.
