Sorenstam to Appear at Nation’s Largest Outdoor Golf Lifestyle Extravaganza and Demo Day

Orlando, Fla., (Nov. 5, 2009) – Golfweek has announced today the newest addition to its Golfweek’s Golfest 2010 entertainment lineup: world-renowned superstar Annika Sorenstam, LPGA and World Golf Hall of Fame golfer, businesswoman and philanthropist. Sorenstam’s presence adds further excitement and acclaim to this year’s highly anticipated event series, which marks the seventh anniversary for the magazine’s flagship event.

“I’m excited to participate in Golfweek’s Golfest this year as it is a perfect way to share my passion for our sport and raise awareness for my foundation, which teaches children the importance of living a healthy, active lifestyle through fitness and nutrition,” Sorenstam said.

Scheduled to appear at Golfweek’s Golfest Orlando (held Jan. 23-24 at ChampionsGate Golf Club) and Golfweek’s Golfest The Villages (held March 5-6 at The Polo Fields), Sorenstam will headline the popular events’ Main Stage entertainment, giving golf tips and discussing her remarkable career before participating in a meet-and-greet with attendees.

“Each year, we are able to ramp up the excitement of Golfweek’s Golfest to a whole new level, and in 2010, we’re continuing this tradition with Annika,” said Armand Cimaroli, director of events. “She is a star whose positive impact has extended beyond the world of golf to the sports industry as a whole, and we are looking forward to her joining this year’s exciting series.”

Billed as the nation’s largest outdoor golf lifestyle extravaganza and demo day, Golfweek’s Golfest not only features big-name entertainment and golf celebrities, but also allows attendees to try and buy golf’s latest and greatest equipment, apparel and accessories, all while enjoying exhibitions by golf trick-shot artists and long-drive champions, clinics by iconic golf instructors, prize drawings, contests, food, games and fun for the entire family.
