FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
November 18, 2009
(VIENNA, VA) – Billy Casper Golf (BCG) Chairman and CEO Peter Hill has risen to No. 5 on Golf Inc. magazine’s international ranking of the “Most Powerful People in Golf,” joining Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods in the top five.
Co-founding BCG in 1989 with business partner Robert Morris and PGA Tour legend Billy Casper, Hill directs the company’s turnkey ownership, lease and third-party management of more than 110 golf courses, country clubs and resorts in 25 states and Central America.
About Hill’s ascension from No. 7 in 2008, Golf Inc. states:
“Hill has led the Vienna, Va.-based Billy Casper Golf management company to a position as the second largest operator of U.S. courses. The company, growing steadily over the past decade, made a major jump this year, adding 18 course management deals in the first three quarters of the year, including seven Chicago Park District facilities. The properties have done well, particularly in a down economy, showing a two percent same-store rounds increase over 2008.”
Among the 2009 “difference makers” under Hill’s leadership, BCG:
• Invested significant resources in infrastructure to further bolster customer acquisition and retention
• Enrolled all courses in Audubon International’s “Cooperative Sanctuary” program
• Was named a Founding Contributor of “Get Golf Ready,” the nationally-branded program of the World Golf Foundation
• Added 13 clients to Buffalo Communications – the golf-lifestyle public relations, branding and marketing-communications division of BCG – to become the largest U.S.-based agency in its niche
• Represented the golf industry with Hill championing Members of Congress during National Golf Day on Capitol Hill
BCG pioneers cutting-edge and customized marketing technology; develops revenue-management programs; identifies and nurtures skilled personnel; mandates best agronomic practices; creates unique promotions; and establishes vendor partnerships.
“This recognition among the giants of the industry is humbling,” says Hill. “But credit goes to the highly talented Billy Casper Golf team that ensures customers enjoy their experiences and course owners realize healthy returns.”
