(CARMEL, CA, November 17, 2009) The Shivas Irons Society today announced that its 2009 fundraising auction is online and active. Each year this auction features opportunities to play golf at several of the world’s most celebrated courses including a number of US Open and other amateur and professional major championship venues. Available, too, is an eclectic array of other items including golf and sports memorabilia, original art, golf photography and collectible books.
Featured items include a two-night getaway at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, a signed limited edition in handbound leather of Michael Murphy”s Golf in the Kingdom, a private golf lesson with Golf Magazine’s “Top 100” instructor Laird Small, a seven-day escape to Mauna Lani on the Big Island of Hawaii, and much, much more.
The Shivas Irons Society is a 501(c)3 charitable organization with members throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Its mission is to provide opportunities for community, discovery and transformation through golf. Membership is open to all, but you must be a member or recommended by a member to fully participate in this private auction. Proceeds will benefit the Society’s activities including the Youth Scholarship Fund and The Journal project. The amount of winning bids in excess of the “fair market value” of auction items are tax-deductible (US Only).
