Director of Instruction at the Jim McLean Golf Center-Texas Receives National Honor
MIAMI, Fl (December 4, 2009) – Justin Poynter, who joined the Jim McLean Golf Schools as an instructor in 2006, and is now the Director of Instruction at the Jim Mclean Golf Center in Ft. Worth, Texas, was named as one of the Top-50 Instructors in North America by Golf Range Magazine.
In order to be named a Top-50 Instructor by Golf Range Magazine, instructors must work at either a Golf Range or home of a short course, such as a 9-hole course. Steve di Costanzo, Founder and President of Golf Range Magazine, said the magazine wanted to recognize and “shine a light” on the top instructors who work at such facilities. Golf Range Magazine has published a yearly, “Top-100” list of the best golf ranges in America for each of the last 10 years, and is now recognizing the best of the best at Golf Ranges across North America. (Since 2007, the Jim McLean Golf Center-Texas has been ranked as a Top Short Course and Top 100 Range)
Poynter, who has been instrumental in the growth of the Jim McLean Golf Center-Texas, has worked with such TOUR Professionals as Mark Brooks, Jerod Turner, and Willie Wood, while also helping out several Nationwide Tour Professionals such as Hunter Haas, David Lutterus, and Mark Walker. More impressive, however, is the fact that Poynter has worked tirelessly to build the Jim Mclean Golf Center-Texas into one of the top golf schools in America, and his hard work has paid off. Not only has Poynter been named as a Top-50 Instructor by Golf Range Magazine, the school was named one of the Top-25 in America by GOLF Magazine.
“I am humbled to receive this honor,” said Poynter. “I realize that all individual honors are a reflection of the team, company, and relationships with others. And although this wasn’t my objective, I am very grateful for all of the support I have received.”
