IRVINE, CA – December 4, 2009 – FOURTEEN GOLF, recognized worldwide amongst top touring golf professionals as the foremost leading wedge designer and manufacturer, announced today that the company is sponsoring the upcoming Turtle Bay Resort Hawaii State Open held from December 17-20, 2009.

The Hawaii State Open is one of the state’s oldest tournaments. It was initiated in the 1920s as a venue to establish and showcase the best golfer on the islands. According to FOURTEEN GOLF COO Marcy Kamoda, “Our company is a big proponent of junior golf and this special event is held not only to promote golf in the islands but supports the ASPGA junior golf programs. We’re proud to be part of it.”

The FOURTEEN GOLF sponsorship includes recognition as a supporting sponsor. It also provides the company year round exposure in PGA Magazine (monthly Aloha section) and coverage on the Aloha Section PGA website http://www.aloha.pga.com. The FOURTEEN GOLF logo will be displayed on the sponsor and tournament web page.

Most importantly, this sponsorship gives the company an opportunity to display and demonstrate their tour proven golf equipment at the tournament site. This exhibitor site provides exposure not only to the top golfers participating in the event but to the community who comes out to support the Aloha Section.

The ASPGA always wants to host the tournament at the best courses throughout the islands. With that in mind, the association chose Golf Digest’s Top-100 Public Course, the Arnold Palmer golf course at Turtle Bay, known for its challenging but rewarding layout. They will also play on the resort’s beautiful George Fazio golf course.

Past champions of the Hawaii State Open include the 1987 US Open Champion Scott Simpson, Hawaii’s own PGA Professional Dean Wilson, Japan PGA Touring Professional and local favorite David Ishii. The 2008 Hawaii State Open Champion and former Hawaii native Nick Mason will try to defend his title.

“FOURTEEN GOLF is looking forward to this rich traditional Hawaiian tournament,” adds Kamoda.

FOURTEEN GOLF understands the importance of the short game, this significant portion of the game has created an unprecedented demand on most tours for their signature series of wedges. The company prides itself on the ten titles won this year using their short game arsenal.

FOURTEEN GOLF in Japan established itself in 1981 as a premier golf equipment design company. The highly successful venture developed exclusive designs for Titleist, Yamaha, Srixon (formerly Dunlop Japan), Wilson, PRGR, and many more. The original team was credited with developing the first hybrid iron and the highly popular “Citation” cavity iron by Power Bilt which was one of the most popular irons of the 1980s. In the year 2000, the business transitioned into branded design and manufacturing company.

The name “Fourteen” is based on the fundamental rule of golf which states that the player can carry up to 14 golf clubs in their bag. FOURTEEN GOLF strives to produce the best 14 clubs ever. FOURTEEN GOLF aims to achieve the ultimate in club characteristics which allow golfers to hit shots they didn’t think possible. These clubs bring out the strength in a player. Like their “feather” moniker which represent the best scores in golf; a birdie, eagle, and albatross, these clubs will bring out the best scores for any golfer, professional or amateur.
