WEST CHESTER, Pa. (December 4, 2009) – Inside Golf, the award-winning television show, has a new host and he owns one of the most familiar voices in the Greater Philadelphia area.
For years, Philadelphians have awakened to the news reports from Harry Donahue – the morning anchor on KYW Newsradio, the top-rated morning drive radio station. An avid golfer and member of North Hills CC in suburban Philadelphia, Donahue has added hosting the Inside Golf television show to his impressive resume. Donahue is also the play-by-play announcer for Temple University football and basketball.
“I’ve worked with Harry for many years on the Temple scene and found that he is one of the most professional and competent announcers in the business,” said Ken Selinger, president of CCI Video, the company that owns and produces the Inside Golf television show. “Seeing the passion for the game of golf that he has developed over the years, it was a natural to give him a try as show host in recent months. The experiment proved to be a huge success and we decided to make him the permanent host.”
Donahue will handle the course review and feature portions of each show, as well as hosting the popular Tee’d Off segments.
“This is a great opportunity for me. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time,” said Donahue. “I was bitten by the golf bug many years ago and making the game part of my work week is an exciting step for me.
“Stepping in to an established show, with a great team already in place, has made the transition much easier,” Donahue continued. “As always, our goal will be to expose great courses to our viewers, as well as dealing with the most important issues of golf. And, of course, we will be focused on having fun while playing the greatest game in the world.”
Inside Golf is in its 12th year on the air on Comcast SportsNet in Philadelphia and has been recognized as the leading golf and lifestyle television show in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Inside Golf covers every facet of the game of golf – from competition, to instruction, to the personalities and the lifestyle. In the past, it has traveled much of the eastern half of the country in its quest to serve the golfer of the Mid-Atlantic region.
The Inside Golf television show airs four times a week on Comcast SportsNet – 5:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Sundays, 4:30 p.m. on Mondays and 11 a.m. on Wednesday. The show also can be seen anytime by using the On Demand feature on Comcast digital cable.
