THP Updates the World With the Companies Participating and it Looks as if a Record Turnout Will Be Seen.
Sarasota, FL – (December 14, 2009) – The Hackers Paradise (www.thehackersparadise.com), the premier destination on the internet to discuss all things golf, updated the return of its annual Driver Shoot Out, a much anticipated event in which THP commissions more than 24 golfers with varying handicaps to test and provide feedback on popular drivers available to the public in 2010. This year’s DSO will take place prior to the PGA Show with the results being posted on THP’s emerging website and 1st 2010 issue of THP: The Magazine.
“All of our equipment shootouts garner significant traffic, but the driver shootout specifically will generate more excitement and more chatter than any other time of the year, said THP president Josh Babbitt.” Given the fact that our THP 12 Days of Holiday Cheer Contest is drawing so many eyeballs, we wanted to make the announcement now and kick off the New Year with a bang.”
The THP Shoot Out formula is a simple one. Take the drivers from each company and let consumers try them out and measure things such as distance, accuracy, look, and feel with certain categories being weighted more heavily because in the end, it is about performance.
THP uses the same golf ball for every tester and a Bushnell distance measuring device for every swing.
Invitations have been sent out to more than 20 leading equipment companies.
Confirmed participants include: Cleveland, Srixon, TaylorMade, Bridgestone, Callaway, Wilson Staff, Fourteen, Adams, Nike, Tour Edge and Pirahna. THP hopes to have the rest of the companies jump in and be a part of this as well.
More than 75,000 readers tuned in for the results of the hybrid and wedge shoot out. THP expects the numbers for the driver challenge to reach upwards of six figures. It will also kick off our Shoot Out section in THP: The Magazine.
Unlike other equipment testing processes, THP lets readers “get to know” the participants by posting bios and interviews of the golfers testing the equipment. Every shoot-out is broken down into handicap groups with low, mid, and high handicaps all being represented so consumers can identify with the appropriate group. Not a single tester in the shoot-out platform is affiliated with THP or an equipment company. Strictly volunteers in the local area.
“It is our goal to educate consumers and show the many great choices in the marketplace when it comes to picking equipment,” added Babbitt. Participation with this event is looking fantastic so far with the equipment companies and we hope that every major manufacturer to want to be involved. In the end it is about reaching consumers and we think that events like this do that very well.”
THP will be discussing its Driver Shoot Out during its guest radio spots that began December 1st. Listeners have been able to hear these spots on ESPN Radio and Fox Sports Radio. If you would like your equipment represented in the event, please contact The Hackers Paradise. THP will make sure that every company is appropriately represented in gearing up for the event in radio spots and promotions.
The Hackers Paradise is quickly becoming the destination for consumers to read about the world of golf equipment, apparel, and accessories while at the same time having a blast entering some fun contests and winning some great stuff along the way. So many websites now are throwing traffic numbers up at companies to try and draw them in to advertising dollars. THP has no advertising by policy, so the smoke and mirrors is not necessary.
Unlike other golf websites, THP produces original reviews daily ranging from the latest in men’s and women’s equipment, apparel, accessories, footwear, tees, distance measuring devices, instructional aids and more. Because THP does not accept advertising from OEM’s or other golf-related companies on their website, so readers can be sure each review is thorough and unbiased. Earlier this year, THP announced the arrival of its inaugural golf magazine, which debuted in December.
