“Experts in the industry estimate that there are only 500 qualified club fitters in the entire world,” reports Jennifer King, President of KZG. “At KZG we pride ourselves in making great product, but it is our professional fitters who make it unbeatable. In order to expand our business, we started the Certification Program to raise the bar for fitters around the world.”
KZG’s Master Clubfitting Certification Program is open to veteran fitters who aspire to practice their craft at the highest level. The class is attended by many top fitters in the industry and the interaction between colleagues and the constant exchange of ideas often leads to strong friendships well after the program ends. Mark Mikkelson, the former head fitter for Ping for 15 years, is the primary fitting instructor. Matt Mora, a former builder for the Cleveland Tour Van, is the custom building instructor. Additionally, Jennifer King and Chris Lesser cover classes on branding, marketing, selling and advertising.
Over three days, attendees experience a total immersion into every aspect of fitting. They are trained in head and shaft design, the latest fitting techniques, launch monitor analysis, sales techniques and general knowledge on how to grow their own businesses.
Each session provides graduates not only with a wealth of skills and information but also with a new set of colleagues. PGA Professionals can earn 12 MSR credits. Participation in the three-day Certification Program is open to those who already have experience as a club fitter or teaching professional and are currently working in a legitimate retail golf facility. Classes are limited in size to assure individualized attention. The next open class is February 1-3, 2010.
