MID-WEIGHT Series Ushers Substantial Retail Growth,
Tour Acceptance and Numerous Industry Awards
(RIDGEFIELD, CT) – Boccieri Golf – maker of the Tour-proven Heavy Putter – confirms its success throughout 2009, buoyed by the introduction of the MID-WEIGHT Series which spurred record sales growth, received numerous awards and accolades from influential media outlets, and furthered rapid adoption of the line by discerning consumers and professionals.
Countering the industry trend of declining equipment sales, Heavy Putter further enhanced its presence in the retail market by continuously posting strong sales numbers throughout the year, leading to a tripling in market share over the past 12 months.
“We knew 2009 was going to be a banner year, as nationwide testing showed the MID-WEIGHT Series was preferred by 7 out of 10 golfers versus their current brands,” says Stephen Boccieri, President and CEO of Boccieri Golf. “We’re building on this momentum with a variety of exciting new products we’re planning to launch in 2010.”
The Heavy Putter has also enjoyed tremendous success at the professional level, including frequent top finishes on all major Tours worldwide. Introduction of the MID-WEIGHT Series continued the already strong acceptance for the brand, which has been used by winners on the PGA, European, Champions, Asian, Nationwide and Canadian Tours. The K4 model was used by John Daly during his runner-up finish at the BMW Italian Open.
The MID-WEIGHT Series has continuously been recognized for excellence, with models being named to Golf Digest’s 2009 “Hot List,” ranking first in GOLF Magazine’s 2009 “Putter Test,” receiving a “GT Tech Award” from Golf Tips magazine and garnering “Player’s Choice Awards” in Golfing Magazine’s “Hands On” reader testing.
With a total weight of 750 grams, the MID-WEIGHT Series is lighter than previous Heavy Putter models yet heavier than traditional offerings. It is available in a five classic designs offered in a rich black “PVD” or silver satin finish, and features Boccieri Golf’s innovative system of added weight in the head and grip. This causes the body to engage its larger muscles for a consistent swing path, uniform pace, precise distance and directional control, tightening end-over-end golf ball roll.
