Jan. 4, 2010; Phoenix, Arizona: Citing exceptional performance and innovation features, the 2010 Golf Digest “Hot List” honored PING’s new G15 Series and iN putters with Gold Awards in its annual review of golf’s “hottest” products. The results
are published in the February issue of the magazine.
The G15 driver was further distinguished with the “Editor’s Choice” Award, the only driver to be so honored and one of only four products of the more than 400 considered for the test to earn the coveted praise.
“The early success of our newest products has been exceptional,” said John Solheim, PING Chairman & CEO. “Golfers are benefiting from our latest advancements in technology in every category. Now, to earn the highest praise from Golf Digest in such a comprehensive and technical review gives golfers added confidence that PING’s products continue to deliver performance from tee to green and on the green.”
The G15 Series, which includes drivers, fairway woods, hybrids and irons, was launched in August of 2009. Each earned gold honors in their respective categories and scored high in the two key criteria; Performance and Innovation. The products were also rated on Look/Sound/Feel and Demand.
In honoring the G15 Driver as the Editor’s Choice, the magazine praised PING’s design of the new driver “because it looks and works like a golf club should for every kind of player. The high tech features are there…but they are hidden. Just the way we want it.”
The G15 Driver and Fairway Woods earned the maximum five stars for Performance. The design of the G15 Hybrid rated 4.5 stars for Innovation with one tester saying the new hybrid: “Flies like a rocket, with a really high trajectory. Exactly what you want from a hybrid.” The G15 iron received 4.5 stars for both Performance and Innovation. “It’s the most forgiving thing I’ve tried,” said a tester.
The new iN Putter Series, which includes 10 models, was noted for its Innovation. In the Blade Putter category, the iN Series Anser V2 scored the highest of any putter for its innovation, earning five stars for the nano-nickel insert technology and center-body cut-outs. The new Wack-E models received five stars in the Mallet category for Innovation and 4.5 stars for Performance.
