IRVINE, CA – JANUARY 5, 2009 – FOURTEEN GOLF, recognized worldwide amongst top touring golf professionals as the foremost leading wedge designer and manufacturer, announced today that the company has appointed Greg Gersen to expand their market in the Pacific North West territory.
According to FOURTEEN GOLF Sales Manager Kyumin Shim, “A critical step in growing FOURTEEN GOLF is finding and hiring key sales representatives in areas where we lack retail distribution. And that is the case in this appointment. Both Washington and Oregon are states that were handled internally. This territory needed an outside representative to better service the accounts. And, Greg is the perfect choice for this region. He has been a highly successful sales executive there since 1999.”
Greg Gersen understands what it takes to succeed at a boutique company. He worked at both Nickent and Sonartec Golf, both small but burgeoning golf equipment companies. In addition to representing FOURTEEN GOLF, Gersen client roster includes Clicgear Cart, Golfer’s Edge Energy Drink, Laser T, Mibrella, ProActive Sports, and Tiger Shark.
“Greg is a great addition to the sales team. We’re confident he will help FOURTEEN GOLF reach those retailers who aren’t customers yet,” said Marcy Kamoda COO of FOURTEEN GOLF.
Gersen’s passion isn’t limited to work but also to charity. He founded the Golf for Life Tournament with the American Cancer Society. All sponsorship obtained in the event was credited to Gersen. He also acted as the Tournament Director undertaking the administration and organization.
“I am excited to help spread the word of Fourteen Golf as it becomes a common brand name with Golfer’s of all capabilities across the U.S. I have represented other club brands and I can see that this is going to be the beginning of a long and wonderful relationship. I look forward to doing demo days and interacting with golfer’s face to face and I realize this will be the launching platform that must take place to build this brand. I’m ready for the hard work and challenge ahead,” said Greg Gersen.
FOURTEEN GOLF in Japan established itself in 1981 as a premier golf equipment design company. The highly successful venture developed exclusive designs for Titleist, Yamaha, Srixon (formerly Dunlop Japan), Wilson, PRGR, and many more. The original team was credited with developing the first hybrid iron and the highly popular “Citation” cavity iron by Power Bilt which was one of the most popular irons of the 1980s. In the year 2000, the business transitioned into branded design and manufacturing company.
The name “Fourteen” is based on the fundamental rule of golf which states that the player can carry up to 14 golf clubs in their bag. FOURTEEN GOLF strives to produce the best 14 clubs ever. FOURTEEN GOLF aims to achieve the ultimate in club characteristics which allow golfers to hit shots they didn’t think possible. These clubs bring out the strength in a player. Like their “feather” moniker which represent the best scores in golf; a birdie, eagle, and albatross, these clubs will bring out the best scores for any golfer, professional or amateur.
