SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Dixon Golf, manufacturers of the world’s first high performance, 100 percent eco-friendly golf ball, will be holding a special golf ball recycling event at Sierra Golf Works in Mesa on Saturday, Jan. 9.
People are encouraged to bring in any and all of their used golf balls between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in exchange for credits toward brand new Dixon Earth golf balls, a 10 percent discount off regular priced merchandise (no golf clubs or golf balls) at Sierra Golf Works, and a certificate good for $8 off the purchase of a dozen Dixon golf balls.
Anyone who donates two dozen or more golf balls will get a gift certificate for a free hybrid golf club, and the person that donates the most golf balls will receive two free tickets to the 2010 Waste Management Phoenix Open.
Any brand of golf ball will be accepted. Dixon’s Earth golf ball is recyclable and can be used to make things like playground equipment and field turf. Other brand name balls will be accepted, and while they won’t be recycled, Dixon will conduct research on ways to reuse these golf balls as well.
