Local Indiana touring pro will represent one of the premier resort destinations in the country
French Lick, IN – French Lick Resort, one of the premier golf resort destinations in the country, has signed a sponsorship agreement with PGA Tour player Craig Bowden. Bowden will be the official touring pro representative for the resort during the 2010 season.
Bowden was a natural fit to represent French Lick Resort, as he was born and raised in near by Bedford, Indiana. Bowden attended college at the University of Indianapolis where he played college golf and turned professional in 1989.
“I am very excited about starting this wonderful relationship with French Lick Resort, which has quickly become one of the top golf destinations in the country,” said Bowden. “French Lick Resort has always been a special place for me since I was a kid growing up in the area, and now with the addition of the new Pete Dye golf course and practice facility, it is the perfect place for me to work at my game and call home when I am not playing. I am very much looking forward to the upcoming season on the PGA Tour, as well as representing the resort and its guests.”
Bowden has gone back and forth between the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour during his career. He is currently (2010) a member of the PGA Tour after finishing in the top 25 (22nd) on the 2009 Nationwide Tour money list. He was a member of PGA Tour in 1997, 2000-01, 2004 and 2007 and the Nationwide Tour in 1993, 1996, 1998-9999, 2002, 2003, 2005-06, and 2008-09. He has won three tournaments on the Nationwide Tour and three on the NGA Hooters Tour as well as two Indiana Open Championships.
Bowden will be registered as playing from French Lick Resort on the PGA Tour, and will display the resorts logo on his cap during all of his events on tour. In addition, he will participate in a blog on the French Lick Resort website updating fans from his weekly PGA Tour events. Bowden will also participate in a variety of resort events during the year.
“We are very excited about our new relationship with Craig and having him represent French Lick Resort on the PGA Tour, said Dave Harner, director of golf at French Lick Resort. “It was a perfect fit for both parties and we could not be more thrilled to have someone of his talent and class representing us. We are very delighted to have Craig showcasing the French Lick Resort name on the PGA Tour.”
