LEMONT, Ill., Jan. 7, 2010 – U.S. Kids Golf announced that Kevin Weeks, Cog Hill’s PGA director of instruction, has been named one of the Top 50 Kids Teachers for 2009. This is Weeks’ third time on this prestigious list.
Weeks, 45, a PGA member since 1997, is a three-time recipient of the Illinois PGA Teacher of the Year award and is one of the most recognized teachers on the regional and national level. He is ranked No. 3 on the 2009 Golf Digest’s Best Teachers In Your State list. He works extensively with competitive junior golfers – 63 of his students have gone on to play collegiate golf. Weeks also works with more than 50 professional tour players, including Mark Wilson, winner of the 2009 PGA Mayakoba Golf Classic, and Michael Bradley, winner of the 2009 PGA Puerto Rico Open. Weeks writes instruction articles for Golf Digest, PGA.com and several regional publications.
“It is a great honor to once again win this award,” Weeks said. “Teaching kids the game is such a rewarding experience. I love watching them grow to the point where they can play at a high competitive level. The enthusiasm and the willingness to learn that kids bring to the lesson tee really makes my job easy and most of all a lot of fun.”
The Top 50 Kids Teachers recognizes teaching professionals for their dedication to developing youth golf in their communities. Recipients have demonstrated the ability to organize, administer and teach at a very high level and are recognized by their peers and students as role models for the youth in their programs.
Weeks teaches year-round at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club. For information on instruction, visit www.kevinweeks.com or call 630-301-9357.
