MAUMEE, OH (January 7, 2010) – aboutGolf announced today that it will provide its 3Trak ball and club tracking technology to PING for use in PING’s display at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando later this month. PING plans to use the technology to demonstrate its nFlight fitting software and to showcase its powerful and award-winning G15 and i15 club line-ups.
“We look for the most compelling means of demonstrating our products at the PGA Show and aboutGolf was just the partner to assist us,” says Greg Swartz, PING’s Director of Innovation. “aboutGolf’s 3Trak technology provides extremely consistent and reliable data – essential to tell the technology story of our products while demonstrating the power of our nFlight fitting software.”
aboutGolf’s 3Trak technology directly measures ball and club data and is utilized in both its PGA TOUR Simulator and its performance products. A proprietary methodology for use of high-speed, stereoscopic camera technology enables aboutGolf’s products to measure, with exceptional accuracy, both spin and spin axis of the ball, as well as a variety of club data points.
“PING is an innovator in the golf industry, as is aboutGolf,” says Chuck Faust, President & COO of aboutGolf. “We are pleased to be associated with a golf company that has placed such a strong emphasis on technology and development. Our technology will allow them to show off all the advanced products that have resulted from that focus.”
More aboutGolf products will be on display in their corporate booth (#3143), which will feature five PGA TOUR Simulators, a hitting bay equipped with aboutGolf launch monitor technology and Henry-Griffitts custom fit golf clubs. As well, aboutGolf performance products will be showcased in the ETC Bay and at Demo Day.
