IRVINE, CA – JANUARY 11, 2010 – FOURTEEN GOLF, recognized worldwide amongst top touring golf professionals as the foremost leading wedge designer and manufacturer, announced today that the company’s recently released professionally inspired TC-910 Forged Irons are the proud recipient of the highly desirable 2010 Golf Digest “Hot List” award.
The stunning TC-910 Forged Irons received an honorable silver award in the “Players Irons” category. Typically, “Players Irons” are those designed and targeted at low handicapped golfers. The silver award means that the product scored between 88 and a 92.99. They established this ranking by evaluating performance, innovation, look/sound/feel, and demand.
According to FOURTEEN GOLF COO Marcy Kamoda, “The team at FOURTEEN GOLF is thrilled that the judges at Golf Digest recognized the strengths of the TC-910 Forged Irons. They graded these classic irons with four and half stars for performance as well as in look/sound/feel. They got it right. This significant achievement truly helps validate our product and company.”
These traditionally shaped striking iron heads are manufactured with soft Forged S20C steel and are slightly offset. The CG moves progressively higher as the clubs get shorter, creating optimal spin rates for each club. Initially these irons were designed specifically for the professional, so fittingly they look like a “Players Irons.” They are designed with a clean muscle-cavity back iron head that produces a classic forged feel.
One of the Golf Digest testers made this comment about the TC-910 Forged Irons, “It has a delicate feel with the perfect shape for a player’s iron. My divots weren’t too deep because the leading edge is designed perfectly.”
The new TC-910 Forged Irons feature the company’s new trapezoid grooves. This distinctive sharply-edged trapezoidal groove undergoes a mirror-face milling process which precisely and carefully mills each groove for optimal spin.
The company spent years engineering a new trapezoidal shaped groove so the TC-910 Forged Irons as well as FOURTEEN GOLF’s total product line would be in compliance with the new groove regulations effective in 2010 for the professional tours and 2014 for amateurs and tournaments.
Another comment from a Golf Digest tester summed up the TC-910 perfectly, “In an instant I knew these were legit. They have the perfect combination of feel and flight.”
The TC-910 Forged Iron set is offered in a #3 iron through pitching wedge. They are finished with an appealing Nickel chrome satin finish. For a low penetrating ball flight the TC-910 Forged Irons are built with a tour weighted Dynamic Gold Steel Shaft. They will begin shipping into retail in January of 2010. Suggested retail is $1,199.00.
These Golf Digest “Hot List” award winning irons will available for testing at the PGA Merchandise Show Demo Day on Wednesday, January 27 at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge in Orlando, FL. Show attendees can also test the TC-910 Forged Irons at the Equipment Test Center at Hitting Bay #9 during the PGA Merchandise Show at the Orange County Convention Center.
“We encourage all attendees to visit the FOURTEEN GOLF hitting bay. Not only will our new irons be showcased, our entire 2010 new product line will be available to test. Come out to feel what it is like to play equipment developed on Tour but available for all golfers,” added Kamoda.
FOURTEEN GOLF in Japan established itself in 1981 as a premier golf equipment design company. The highly successful venture developed exclusive designs for Titleist, Yamaha, Srixon (formerly Dunlop Japan), Wilson, PRGR, and many more. The original team was credited with developing the first hybrid iron and the highly popular “Citation” cavity iron by Power Bilt which was one of the most popular irons of the 1980s. In the year 2000, the business transitioned into branded design and manufacturing company.
The name “Fourteen” is based on the fundamental rule of golf which states that the player can carry up to 14 golf clubs in their bag. FOURTEEN GOLF strives to produce the best 14 clubs ever. FOURTEEN GOLF aims to achieve the ultimate in club characteristics which allow golfers to hit shots they didn’t think possible.
These clubs bring out the strength in a player. Like their “feather” moniker which represent the best scores in golf; a birdie, eagle, and albatross, these clubs will bring out the best scores for any golfer, professional or amateur.
