(RIDGEFIELD, CT) – Boccieri Golf – maker of the Tour-proven Heavy Putter – announces that it will unveil the much-anticipated Heavy Wedge and its new “LITE-WEIGHT” Series of putters at the 2010 PGA Merchandise Show (Booth #1433) in Orlando, FL, with opportunities to test both products during Demo Day, January 27 at Orange County National Golf Center.
Incorporating the counterweight technology that made the Heavy Putter a household name, the Heavy Wedge is a traditionally designed blade with a satin non-glare finish and CNC milled groves for maximum spin. With a head mass only slightly heavier than a conventional wedge, the added weight (65 grams) is positioned in the butt of the shaft, raising the club’s balance point and promoting distance control, tighter shot dispersion, acceleration through impact, smoother tempo and incredible feel on both full swing and greenside shots.
The genesis of the LITE-WEIGHT series stems from PGA Tour player feedback, which conveyed a preference for an option that retained the benefits of the Heavy Putter on a lighter scale. Featuring a total weight of 600 grams, it is offered in four distinct models, each of which is heavier than standard offerings from other leading brands, which weigh approximately 500 grams. When paired with existing Heavy Putter models – including the 750 gram MID-WEIGHT and 900 gram HEAVY-WEIGHT series – the new styles provide a putter for every preference.
“We’ve traditionally chosen the PGA Show to premier new products, but there’s never been more anticipation and excitement than there is for these two new categories,” says Stephen Boccieri, President and CEO of Boccieri Golf. “The popularity of the original Heavy Putter sparked an industry wide dialogue on how weight should best be distributed in a golf club to maximize performance. We’re now proving that putters are not the only clubs to benefit from added weight in the right places.”
In addition to the LITE-WEIGHT Series, Boccieri Golf will also introduce new MID-WEIGHT and HEAVY-WEIGHT model putters at the Show. Available in a black PVD, with select styles showcasing a silver satin finish, all models feature the company’s innovative system of added within the head and grip. This causes the body to engage its larger muscles for a consistent swing path, uniform pace, precise distance and directional control, as well as tightening end-over-end golf ball roll.
