New York, NY January 2009 – For Fall 2010, Bobby Jones brings elegance and sophistication back to the game with cotton performance fabrics, silk outerwear and updated classics for the modern country club lifestyle. Three immaculately merchandised deliveries, Telluride, Kennebunkport and Brookhaven Classics, comprise a rich autumn collection. A special limited edition capsule collection celebrates the 80th anniversary of the famed Grand Slam.
Paying homage to the feats of the first great golfer, Bobby Jones celebrates the 80th anniversary of the legendary Grand Slam, in which the skilled linksman was victorious in all four major golf tournaments of his era in a single calendar year. A commemorative collection features a classic color array of charcoal, navy, cambridge red and white comprising an assortment of solid polos, v-neck sweaters, half and full zip cardigans and mock necks. A cashmere and merino v-neck cricket sweater with contrast trim is reminiscent of a garment fit for a 1930’s gentleman to adorn in a match. All garments include a special commemorative logo embroidered on the left sleeve.
The Telluride group is a breath of fresh mountain air with a cool color palette of lake blue, leaf green, midnight and bisque accented by the warmth of chestnut and toast. Basic polos in pima cotton, in addition to multi stripes and jacquards in double mercerized Egyptian cotton, are the perfect early fall pieces. The Bobby Jones X-H20 group offers performance pima cottons in both polo and pullover models. Luxe Zegna Baruffa extrafine merino wool sweaters include a half zip harlequin vest, a baby cable, a houndstooth crewneck and a half button bold stripe mock. Full and half zip weekender pullovers in pima cotton, and a raglan half zip with elbow patches, afford one a comfortable, yet stylish, off course look.
Atlantic, ember, midnight and charcoal heather are the colors of choice for the Kennebunkport group, with accents of bisque and orange spice. In addition to beautiful polos in new color ways, and with collar tipping, sweater vests are introduced in solid v-neck and half zip models with ribbed side panels. A zip front cardigan with ribbed sleeves complements a bright argyle crewneck and an alpaca wool striped v-neck. A cashmere and merino shawl collar pullover is a stand out piece and right on trend. A French terry rugby in pima cotton features bright stripes with a strong background color to complete the casual wardrobe.
Brookhaven Classics reflects the iconic style, elegance and class for which Bobby Jones is known. A clean, sophisticated color palette of black, charcoal heather and bisque is accented with chestnut and toast. Dotted jacquards, pindot twills and herringbone multi stripes epitomize the luxurious polos of this group. A new twist on the classic golf pattern is achieved with a spaced argyle v-neck sweater in merino and cashmere. A full zip boiled alpaca link sweater will keep one warm in the coldest on-course conditions.
Outerwear is cleverly merchandised throughout the collection and includes a lustrous silk Habotai water resistant group with a full zip jacket model, a quilted vest and a coveted car coat. A leather Barracuda jacket crafted from lamb, and a goat suede bomber, are elegant and upscale. The player’s need for stylish performance outerwear is covered by water resistant, Teflon coated pullovers, a full zip solid jacket and an eye-catching checked Barracuda. Beyond the basic solid mini twills, new trousers include a flat front stretch cord, a solid stretch wool, a mini herringbone double pleat and a flat front textural plaid.
