Reservations recently passed the PA-DSS (Payment Application Data Security Standard) compliance assessment set by the PCI Security Standards Council; a council formed by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover to enforce new guidelines to protect merchants from credit card fraud. Fore! Reservations is officially listed as a Validated Payment Application on the council’s website.

The PCI Council’s requirement that merchants must adhere to these new mandates is being enforced to help stem the tide of enormous financial losses from stolen credit card data. PCI compliant practices help both reduce the risk that credit card companies face due to stolen data and the risk that Fore! Reservations customers face as business owners, should a breach ever occur. Becoming PCI compliant also ensures a golf course can continue to process credit cards from Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover without any potential penalties or higher fees.
