LAKE MARY, FL – For the seventh consecutive year, the International Network Of Golf Spring Conference will qualify a team to represent the United States in the International Pairs World Finals in Scotland.
The qualifier takes place at the 20th Annual ING Spring Conference May 9-13 at historic Pinehurst Resort in the Sandhills of North Carolina.
Anyone in the golf industry or media is invited to attend the conference, conducted by the non-profit International Network of Golf. Industry executives from companies large and small, and from every segment of the industry, will join golf media of all types at this annual gathering.
You can sign up for the International Pairs this week at ClubING, the ING Hospitality Room at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando. ClubING, Room 309 next to the media center, will host the kickoff to ING’s 20th Anniversary Celebration with special events on Thursday and Friday.
Events include a media reception on Thursday, 5:30 to 7 pm, and a Happy Hour on Friday, 5 to 6:30 pm. Also scheduled for ClubING are two awards presentations: ING Media Awards at 12:30 Thursday and the ING Industry Honors Friday at 12:30. All PGA Show attendees are invited to all ING events.
The ING World Qualifier will be conducted on Pinehurst Resort’s outstanding No. 4 course, a Donald Ross design that was renovated by Tom Fazio. The tournament will take place on Monday, May 10.
The winning twosome in the net best ball points format will receive a trip to Cameron House on Loch Lomond, Scotland to compete in October’s International Pairs World Finals against over 30 teams from other countries. The tournament host covers four nights accommodations, tournament golf, most meals and a portion of the airfare.
The defending champions are Jim Kahn of Golf Digest Properties and Cody Law of Golf Mesquite Nevada. They won the qualifier at French Lick Resort’s Pete Dye Course last May, then finished in the top 12 at the World Finals held last October at Carnoustie.
There are three other golf competitions at the ING Spring Conference, including the 3rd Annual Durland Cup Scramble, set for Pinehurst No. 5 on Wednesday afternoon.
Now, more than ever, “you gotta be there.” Surrounded by a cloudy economic climate, the golf industry has never seen a better time to gather and communicate first-hand about challenges and solutions. And for 20 years, that has been the focus of all ING gatherings.
The ever-popular One-On-One Appointment Show, a series of private meetings between exhibitors and media to open lines of communication, create unique promotional programs, gather story materials and build relationships, headlines the schedule.
