New Bedford, Mass., Jan. 25, 2010 -Golf Digest and AHEAD announced today that AHEAD will be the exclusive licensee of Golf Digest’s logoed golf course recognition program. As the exclusive licensee, AHEAD will offer its customers the opportunity to co-brand its hats, apparel and accessories with the Golf Digest logos. Also, when AHEAD merchandise incorporates a Golf Digest mark, the purchaser is eligible for a bonus 12-month subscription to Golf Digest
Golf courses that appear in Golf Digest’s prestigious rankings, such as America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses, Best Courses in the State, America’s Toughest Courses, 75 Best Golf Resorts and its famous Best Places to Play star-rankings, are eligible to use special recognition logos. Courses and events not on the lists can use just the Golf Digest logo and can also be eligible for the bonus subscription offer.
“It is a great honor for courses to make one of Golf Digest’s esteemed lists,” said Jeff Waller, national sales director, AHEAD. “With all the different ‘top’ lists out there, we feel that most golfers recognize Golf Digest as the authority. Now with the licensing agreement, AHEAD can help courses promote their distinction as being among the best in the industry by using the official Golf Digest award logo on headwear, apparel and accessories. Courses will be able to create an entire display in the golf shop to showcase their course as one of the top in its category. And members and guests will wear the items with pride. It is an outstanding program that offers added-value for the customer and quick fast sales for the pro-shop.”
“This is a great opportunity to marry two strong brands in the golf market place. Our loyal readership will be looking for AHEAD product at pro shops everywhere and the golf courses are equally proud to show off their distinguished ranking,” said Steve D’Agostino, associate director of licensing, Golf Digest. “Golf Digest is excited to be able to offer a comprehensive merchandise program through AHEAD. AHEAD is known for its quality, high performance headwear and apparel and outstanding ornamentation and we are pleased to partner with them through this program.”
Golf Digest logos will appear as a secondary mark, typically as a side logo and with the course logo in the primary location on apparel and headwear. In accessories, AHEAD will offer its divot tool and hat clip display boxes with one of the three ball markers being the Golf Digest award logo.
