PEBBLE BEACH, Calif., Feb. 1, 2010 – One of California’s most dedicated golf media professionals, Emmy Moore Minister, joins illustrious tour champions Janet Coles, Paul Goydos and Nick Watney as honorees at the 51st California Golf Writers & Broadcasters Association awards banquet, Feb. 9 at The Inn At Spanish Bay.
Moore Minister, who is being honored as the Golf Media Person of the Year (the first woman to receive this distinction) has served the golf industry through her writing, broadcasting and numerous media relations campaigns the past two decades.
Coles is the 10th woman to be inducted into the California Golf Hall of Fame, while Watney is the winner of the Outstanding Achievement Award for 2009 and Goydos is being honored with the Jack Lemmon Ambassador of Golf Award, as selected by the CGWBA board of directors.
Others being honored by the California Golf Writers & Broadcasters Association include legendary golf instructor Ben Doyle; famed Bay Area club-maker Jesse Ortiz; world-renowned soccer star Brandi Chastain; PGA club professional Jim Kepler; Nor Cal golf course superintendent Gary Ingram. Renowned Bay Area sports celebrity Bob Murphy serves as the emcee for the festivities.
