SEATTLE (January 27, 2010) -Cutter & Buck is pleased to announce a multi-year extension with golf legend Annika Sorenstam to design, produce and market the ANNIKA Collection by Cutter & Buck. First launched in 2004, the ANNIKA Collection can be found at better pro shops and resorts nationwide.
“We’re pleased to know that Annika’s commitment to her collection with Cutter & Buck remains as strong as ever. As a company we will continue to work closely with her to build on the success of her collection, which is internationally known for its athletic style, sophisticated design and unparalleled performance,” said Jens Petersson, CEO of Cutter & Buck.
With 89 worldwide wins, 72 LPGA wins, including 10 Major Championships, Annika is considered by many to be the greatest female golfer of all-time. Even though Annika stepped away from the LPGA Tour in 2008 to focus on her family and brand of businesses, her legacy has continued to have a lasting impact on and off the course. Through the work of ANNIKA Academy, the ANNIKA Foundation, and the ANNIKA Collection, she continues to share her passion for the game.
“I am thrilled to continue my longstanding partnership with Cutter & Buck. They are a first-class company and I have enjoyed the progress we have made together on the ANNIKA Collection. Even though I am no longer playing competitively, I look forward to expanding the line and working with them for many years to come,” said Annika Sorenstam.
Annika’s dominance on the LPGA Tour and intense fitness regimen brought attention to the need for women’s golf apparel to be functional as well as fashionable. Recognizing the potential, Cutter & Buck approached Annika with an offer to develop a collection of technical apparel that would meet her needs in terms of fit, feel and function. The result was the ANNIKA Collection, a seasonal offering of ladies’ apparel that is ideal for both the amateur and pro female golfer.
