RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CALIFORNIA – Tijeras Creek Golf Club in South Orange Country recently welcomed Mardell Wilkins as the newest addition to their staple of expert teaching professionals. Wilkins joins Michelle Dubé as the teaching professionals at Tijeras Creek’s popular practice facility. In addition to offering individual private instruction at Tijeras, Wilkins will be offering junior instruction, playing instructional packages, semi-private golf lessons, and clinic opportunities.
Wilkins currently holds Class A certification in both the PGA and the LPGA and played on the LPGA Tour for 13 years prior to devoting her time to teaching. She still competes in local events and recently won the LPGA Team Classic Senior Division three times. Mardell was selected by the LPGA membership as a Top 50 LPGA Teacher for 2008-2009, was awarded the Western Section Teacher of the Year two times, was also included Golf Digest Top 400 Teacher list and was included on the inaugural Golf for Women Top 50 Teacher list in 2000.
Prior to joining the instruction team at Tijeras Creek, Wilkins was the Teaching Professional at nearby Mission Viejo Country Club for the over 25 years.
“As a teacher I try to communicate in clear and understandable language, help you set goals, taking into account physical characteristics and time commitment,” stated Mardell. “I look forward to meeting all of you, please drop by and say Hi!”
