COLUMBUS, Ga., February 10, 2010 — Roy Nix, Executive Director of the Association of Golf Clubfitting Professionals (AGCP), leader in the advancement of custom clubfitting and clubmaking, wants to remind all who wish to attend the AGCP’s 5th Annual Roundtable Convention and Education Conference that the $100.00 savings for advanced registration deadline is Feb. 28, 2010. All price levels will increase on March 1st, 2010.
Due to the size and scope of this year’s convention, the class schedule and the fact we moved the dates up we need to move the deadline for advanced registrations up a bit over last year to insure we have enough space reserved. The Convention Center needs a firm commitment to hold the additional space needed for the anticipated increase in sponsor participation and the expected increase in registrations because of the lineup of classes and speakers we have this year. We have a truly outstanding line up of speakers this year and far better than at any time in the past and we are expecting a record turn out again this year.
Tom Wishon, the featured speaker for RT-5 has been recognized for creating sophisticated, industry-acclaimed designs for club heads, shafts, grips and clubmaking/clubfitting tools and technology products. He has written literally hundreds of technical articles for golf and clubmaking publications around the world (Golf Digest, GOLF, Golf Week, Golf World, Clubmaker magazine, Clubmaker Digest, Professional Clubmakers’ Society Journal to name a few) and has authored eight books on clubmaking, shaft fitting and research, and custom clubfitting. Even more notable in Wishon’s career is the fact that he is credited with more than 50 golf industry design technology firsts and is still the only designer from the custom clubmaking industry to have created models which have been used to win on the PGA Tour and in Ryder Cup competition.
Eric Hogge, Director of Clubfitting and The Golf Head Professional of the PGA Center for Golf Learning and Performance in Port St. Lucie Florida. Eric will talk to us about the Swing Mechanics used in Fitting. We appreciate having the PGA participate in our event and bring additional expertise to our group. Eric attended the Roundtable last year and returns this year as a Special Guest Speaker.
Jimmy Sharp, former Head Football Coach of Virginia Tech University will be the speaker at the AGCP Annual Dinner on Thursday night at the Port Columbus Naval Museum. Jimmy played for Paul “Bear” Bryant at Alabama and played on Alabama’s 1961 National Championship team.
