Heritage Golf Group Announces Player Names Confirmed For 2010 eGolf Professional Tour Event At Palmetto Hall Plantation Club

SAN DIEGO, CA. – Heritage Golf Group is pleased to announce the players who have been confirmed for the 2010 eGolf Professional Tour season-opening at Palmetto Hall Plantation Club. Selected by the eGolf Professional Tour to host the 2010 season-opening event February 17-20, 2010, Palmetto Hall Plantation Club on Hilton Head Island, SC will play host to PGA TOUR players, former PGA TOUR players and local players. A field of 204 players will compete for an estimated purse of $235,000 at the Palmetto Hall Championship, with an estimated $35,000 going to the winner.

“We’re honored to be hosting the 2010 eGolf Professional Tour’s opening event of the season,” said Ray Dznowski, Director of Operations for the Heritage Collection on Hilton Head Island. “With so many outstanding golfers participating in the eGolf Tour, this promises to be a spectacular tournament and another fantastic event for Hilton Head Island as a golf destination.”

A few of the current and former PGA TOUR key players signed up for next week’s event are Tadd Fujikawa, Doug Barron, Drew Weaver, Brian Harman, Ty Tryon, and Sterling Sharpe (amateur). Sharpe’s presence in the event should be a big draw for players and fans alike. A former NFL star, Sharpe has starred as a wide receiver at South Carolina, played with the Green Bay Packers from 1988-1994 and was named to the NFL’s “All Pro” team five times, as well as having been name to the Pro Bowl five times. In 1992, Sharpe became one of only seven players to capture the NFL’s Triple Crown for wide receivers in a single year. Now living in Columbia, Sharpe was ranked No. 3 on the Golf Digest list of top Athlete-Golfers with a USGA handicap plus-2.4.

A number of notable local players will be competing as well, including Hartwell Baker (HHI), Kenny Coakley (Bluffton), Adam Cohan (Savannah), Chris Epperson (HHI), Joel Hendry (Bluffton), Ryan Kaufmann (Bluffton), Nathan Stamey (Bluffton), Colby Wilson (HHI) and Ryan Utnage (Bluffton).
