European PGA Tour 2010 at Omega Dubai Desert Classic
Carlsbad, CA – February 12th, 2010 – Reining in his first victory of the New Year, the 46 year old Spaniard, wins the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. His last win was in 2008 at the BMW PGA Championship: making this an exciting WIN for all to see!
This is the Spaniard’s 16th win on The European Tour, and remarkably a record nine of these wins have come since he turned 40. He is no stranger to the pressure of a Tournament. He began golfing at the age of 15 and discovered his passion for golf while caddying at the 1979 Spanish Open.
With a cigar in hand, the 46 year old veteran entered the winners circle with another objective in front of him: To WIN a major to end his career. Previously tying for second at the 2000 US open and tying for third at the 2001 British Open, his hopes are renewed. This dramatic win gives him momentum going into the 2010 season proving that his age is no obstacle. He wore a black Palette Mag Titan by Trion:Z while he pumped his fist victoriously!
He was tied at 11 under par in regulation after carding par 72 in the final round. This threw him into a sudden-death playoff situation where he pared the first two playoff holes and wearing a Trion:Z Palette, he sank a 4-footer for the WIN!
