(VIENNA, VA) – Billy Casper Golf (BCG) – the golf course owner and operator with the second largest domestic portfolio (113 facilities in 25 states) – has been recognized for its industry-leading, environmentally-sensitive agronomic practices by conservation group Audubon International.

As a best-of-breed golf-course management company, BCG accomplishments include:
* 100 percent of courses enrolled in the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses (ACSP for Golf Courses)
* 40 “certified” ACSP for Golf Courses

In attaining certification from Audubon International, BCG-certified courses successfully maintain sound environmental practices in six key areas: environmental planning, wildlife and habitat management, outreach and education, chemical use reduction and safety, water conservation, and water quality management.

“Following the sound guidance of Audubon International allows our agronomic staff across the Billy Casper Golf portfolio to better understand the ecological impact of a golf course,” says Bryan Bielecki, Vice President of Agronomy for BCG.

“It is top priority for all Billy Casper Golf courses to be active in protecting our natural habitat,” says Peter Hill, Chairman and CEO of BCG. “This is yet another standard bearer that makes Billy Casper Golf the ideal operator of courses owned by developers and other parties.”

Following the Audubon International-approved steps for an environmentally-friendly golf course reduces waste and promotes efficient operations and lauds courses for high standards protecting the environment. An effective program results in a reduction of maintenance costs, including insurance premiums, energy, water, pesticides, fertilizer, equipment wear and labor.
