Area’s best players compete in 54-hole, individual stroke play tournament
(TALLAHASSEE, Fla.) – SouthWood Golf Club – the award-winning public course owned by The St. Joe Company and operated by Billy Casper Golf – today announces it will host the Tallahassee Amateur Golf Championship along with Killearn Country Club, March 19-21.
The Tallahassee Amateur Golf Championship, in its fourth year, has emerged as one of the region’s premier events since the inaugural tournament in 2007. Competitors will play two rounds at SouthWood Golf Club (including the final) and one round at Killearn Country Club. Both a championship flight and various net flights will be available in the men’s and senior divisions (55 years and older) as well as an open net division for ladies. Players in the net divisions will be flighted by their handicap index and must have a valid USGA index to enter. The men’s championship flight will play from 7,000 yards, the men’s net and senior championship flights from 6,500 yards, the senior net from 6,100 yards and the ladies from 5,300 yards.
