Goodyear, Ariz. – OB Sports Golf Management recently announced the appointment of Mark Metzger as the General Manager/Director of Golf at Palm Valley Golf Club. Metzger is responsible for all golf operations, food and beverage, marketing, merchandising, tournaments, budgeting and staff training for this popular golf facility located in the west Phoenix suburb of Goodyear. Palm Valley Golf Club boasts 36 holes of golf including the 18 hole, par 72 Arthur Hills-designed Palm Course and the 18 hole par 62 Hale Irwin-designed Lakes Course.
Prior to joining OB Sports, Metzger was the Head Golf Professional at Powder Horn Golf Club in Sheridan, Wyoming for over 13 years and served the same leadership role at Yellowstone Country Club in Billings Montana for 5 years. Metzger is very familiar with Phoenix area golf scene having served as the director of golf at Country Meadows in Peoria and also holding various golf professional positions at The Wigwam in Litchfield Park, Tatum Ranch in Cave Creek and Camelback in Scottsdale. He also played competitively for Scottsdale Community College prior to transferring to UCLA. Metzger has been a ‘Class A’ member of the Professional Golfers Association of America for over 20 years. He resides in Phoenix with his wife Marla and has three sons whom are also golfers as well.
