Rife Wins Putting Duel In The Desert To Capture The Accenture World Match Play Title

Sanford, FL – RIFE Putters would like to congratulate the Winner of the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship held this past weekend at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain – Marana, AZ. The winner used a modified RIFE Antigua Putter to capture his 9th career victory, and 1st on U.S. soil, catapulting him to a personal-best of #5 in the Official World Golf Rankings. A World Golf Championship match play event, comprised of the top 64 players in the world, this is by far the biggest win of his career.

The winner’s putting game was second to none and the main reason he won the event, as he was conceding 20 to 30 yards off the tee all day long. Only trailing for one hole on Sunday, he beat fellow Brit, Paul Casey, 4 and 2 on the 34th hole of the championship match.

“He did what he needed to do today,” said the 2nd Place Finisher. “I think he kept it in play on every single hole, which is pretty impressive around here, and made a lot of clutch putts. He’s putting very, very well.”

“I would say my short game, certainly this week, has been as good as it’s ever been,” the winner said. “The last 12 months, it’s been up there with the best of them.”

Since switching to a RIFE Putter at the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines, he has steadily made his way up the list of World Rankings. After a runner-up finish at the 09′ Players Championship he has had three Top 5 Finishes including a win on the European Tour at The Barclays in November, and now his first PGA Tour victory as well. He has accumulated over $5 million in earnings during this time and his World Ranking has rocketed from 34th to 5th.

The modified Antigua putter he used to win this event, and has had so much success with in the past year, inspired RIFE to replicate it and offer it as part of their new lineup for 2010. This new Island Series putter will be called the Aruba, and is due to hit stores this Spring.

This marks the first win of the 2010 season for RIFE Putters and their 41st dating back to 2008. RIFE now has a win on the PGA Tour three straight years in a row to go along with four more titles on the European Tour. Not to mention wins on every major circuit worldwide and all without paying a single player, making RIFE Putters one of the greatest stories in the history of the golf business.

About RIFE Putters
RIFE Putters, LLC is the true innovator behind horizontal grooved face putter technology with a patent on specifically sized grooves since 1997. These precisely spaced grooves allow the putter to gently press into the cover of the ball and grip and lift it into an instant forward roll. Guerin Rife states, “just as grooves in irons help control spin so do grooves in a putter face.” Other companies are now trying to imitate this patented technology but the spacing of the grooves is the true key to the gripping and lifting effect of grooved face putter technology. Horizontal RollGroove™ faced putters create the truest “no skid” roll in golf no matter where you hit the ball on the putter face.
