The World Golfers Championship is now accepting applications from country clubs and golf associations who wish to conduct qualifying events to participate in the tournament that gives amateur golfers of all ability levels chances to represent their country in a world-wide competition.
“It’s also a great way for clubs to generate extra revenue,” said Anders Bengtson, President of World Golfers USA, pointing out that the clubs can either send in a $600 entry fee or pay a fee of $25 per player to enter the event. Go to www.worldgolfers.usa.com and click on “Host an Event” or call 561 313-9083 for more details.
One winner from each of five handicap categories-0-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20 and 21-25-then earn the right to advance to the U.S. finals, scheduled Sept. 16-19 at the Dinosaur and Sidewinder Courses at the Gold Canyon (AZ) Golf Resort.
Then the five winners in this 36-hole competition earn expense-paid trips to Hua-Hin, Thailand to represent the U.s. in the 16th annual World Golfers Championship, scheduled Oct. 30-Nov. 6. More than 35 countries are expected to send teams this year.
