IRVINE, CA – FEBRUARY 25, 2010 – FOURTEEN GOLF, recognized worldwide amongst top touring golf professionals as the foremost leading wedge designer and manufacturer, announced today that their new TC-910 Forged Irons were played by more professionals than any other iron model at the recent Asian Tour International in Bangkok, Thailand. In addition to the irons, their MT-28 Wedge ranked as the second most played wedge.
“We are not surprised that the TC-910 Forged Irons have vaulted to the number one position at the Asian Tour International so soon after their release,” said FOURTEEN GOLF COO Marcy Kamoda. “These striking irons were initially developed for the touring professionals and the fact that so many professionals have opted to play them validates their technology and performance benefits.”
The traditionally shaped TC-910 iron head is manufactured with soft Forged S20C steel, carrying a compact head with precisely positioned CG and MOI providing exceptional workability for shaping any shot. In addition, the lowered CG height creates ideal spin rates and trajectory for each iron.
“While the TC-910 Forged Iron is a new offering, our MT-28 Wedge Series represents a long legacy of winning wedges. Its exceptional performance has positioned FOURTEEN as the wedge authority,” added Kamoda. “We have recently introduced the MT-28 V5 Wedge to our line and expect it to become the new favorite of professional golfers.”
The classically designed MT-28 V5 wedge features the signature FOURTEEN “reverse taper design” which has been improved by adding a groove strategically located in between the sole and blade portion of the wedge. This structural change allowed the engineers to move the CG to a higher more stabilizing position for more precise shots and spin control.
The sole of the MT-28 V5 possesses a chambered shape with trailing edge and heel relief. This new dynamic combination allows any player to fully utilize the club’s bounce and execute pure and solid shots out of any type of lie. The wedge boasts a rounded leading edge that promotes confidence at address and the clubface has been engineered so that players can easily open or close the face.
The new TC-910 Forged Irons and the MT-28 V5 Wedges feature the company’s new trapezoid grooves, which Fourteen spent years engineering. The new trapezoidal shaped groove is featured in the entire 2010 product line, falling within compliance of the new groove regulations effective in 2010 for the professional tours and 2014 for amateurs and tournaments.
The TC-910 Forged Iron set is offered in #3 iron through pitching wedge. They are finished with an appealing Nickel chrome satin finish. For a low penetrating ball flight the TC-910 Forged Irons are built with a high-flex tour weighted Dynamic Gold Steel Shaft.
The professionally designed MT-28 V5 Wedge comes in a variety of lofts, a 48, 50, 52, 54, 56/08, 56/12, 58/08, 58/12 and a 60 degree. The head is manufactured with a Nickel Chrome Molybdenum alloy which conforms to the 2010 USGA club regulations. It is available in both a chrome and non-plated black finish. Two steel shafts, Dynamic Golf and NS Pro 950GH are available. A proprietary rubber grips finishes these classic wedges.
FOURTEEN GOLF in Japan established itself in 1981 as a premier golf equipment design company. The highly successful venture developed exclusive designs for Titleist, Yamaha, Srixon (formerly Dunlop Japan), Wilson, PRGR, and many more. The original team was credited with developing the first hybrid iron and the highly popular “Citation” cavity iron by Power Bilt which was one of the most popular irons of the 1980s. In the year 2000, the business transitioned into branded design and manufacturing company.
The name “Fourteen” is based on the fundamental rule of golf which states that the player can carry up to 14 golf clubs in their bag. FOURTEEN GOLF strives to produce the best 14 clubs ever. FOURTEEN GOLF aims to achieve the ultimate in club characteristics which allow golfers to hit shots they didn’t think possible.
These clubs bring out the strength in a player. Like their “feather” moniker which represent the best scores in golf; a birdie, eagle, and albatross, these clubs will bring out the best scores for any golfer, professional or amateur.
