MIAMI, Fl (March 1, 2010) – Jim McLean, ranked No. 4 on GOLF Magazine’s list of Top-100 Golf Instructors in the world and owner of the No. 1 ranked Golf Schools in the U.S. has announced he will open a new Golf Academy for Junior Golfers and Post-Graduate Golfers looking to elevate their game, and take it to the “next-level”.
The Jim McLean Junior Academy will launch this fall at the Jim McLean Golf Center-Texas, a location that famed Golf Architect Tom Fazio calls, “THE BEST Golf Training Facility in America.” Students who attend the new Jim McLean Junior Academy will have at the fingertips such benefits as:

ACADEMICS
Students attending the Jim McLean Junior Academy will attend the Spring Creek Academy, one of the leading private schools in the Dallas metro-plex. For gifted and talented students seeking an alternative education, Spring Creek Academy offers small class sizes and flexible schedules allowing students to pursue competitive extracurricular activities.
GOLF PERFORMANCE
An incredible 5:1 student to teacher ratio and a minimum of 20-hours a week of golf instruction, students at the Jim McLean Junior Academy will learn from golf professionals who have ALL trained under Jim McLean. The instruction will be based on Jim’s 25% theory which encompasses the long game, short game, course management, and mental game. This system is based on 35-years of extensive video research by Jim in which he analyzed the golf games of the world best golfers, and took the best of what they did to design Jim’s approach to golf instruction. Jim’s system has proved to be incredibly successful. In fact, Jim is the only instructor in the world to have taught TWO golfers who have risen to the No. 1 Junior and No. 1 Amateur Rankings at the same time (Cristie Kerr and Alexis Thompson). TOURNAMENT ACTION
Golfers attending the Jim McLean Junior Academy will travel throughout the state of Texas and play in nine (9) tournaments per year. Tournaments run by the AJGA (American Junior Golf Association) and TLJT (Texas Legends Junior Tour) will dot the schedule. Students will prepare for these tournaments much like a professional. They will be taught how develop a strategic plan for each course, how to prepare via pre-tournament rounds, what to look for when they scout a course, and how to adapt to various weather conditions.
SOCIAL LIFE
The Jim McLean Junior Academy is located in the heart of the Dallas-Ft. Worth metro-plex and students will have the opportunity to experience many social activities such as Texas Rangers baseball games, Dallas Mavericks basketball games, Dallas Stars hockey games, plus shopping, culture and many other local attractions.
Housing is located next door to the Academy at the Papillon Parc. A staff instructor and four students will reside in each townhome.
