AUGUSTA, GA (March 2, 2010) – Club Car named Mike Read sales director, New Technologies with primary responsibility for the company’s new Visage mobile communications system.

Read had been Golf Category Director for the golf car and utility vehicle manufacturer since 2008. He joined Club Car in 2000 as product manager and has served as director of advertising, channel development and marketing communications. He earned an undergraduate degree in advertising and a master’s degree in business administration with a marketing concentration from the University of Illinois.

In the newly created position, Read will oversee Club Car’s dedicated Visage sales team as well as coordinate sales efforts between Club Car and GPS Industries LLC, a co-developer of Visage.

Visage utilizes a combination of cellular, wireless and Global Positioning System technologies to create what is being called the “new face of customer experience.” The system puts a robust set of features and benefits at the fingertips of golfers and helps course managers increase revenues, lower operating expenses, manage their golf car fleet and improve customer satisfaction.

The Visage system is available on Club Car’s Precedent and DS electric- and gas-powered golf cars. Visage can be installed on any brand of golf car.
