Sanibel Island, Florida: The pleasures of living on Sanibel and Captiva are many: colorful sunsets, tropical foliage, fresh seafood, abundant wildlife, miles of pristine white sand beaches, and world-renowned shelling. It is unimaginable that a naturally beautiful island could become more desirous. The lifestyle found at The Sanctuary Golf Club on Sanibel Island combines the beauty of the islands which all of the added amenities of club life.
This year, The Sanctuary Golf Club addressed the paradigm shift in Club Membership. The Club took a proactive stance to continue and assure its long-term success as a top-tiered Platinum Club of America™ and recently honored Distinguished Club of America with the coveted Emerald Club Award.
Club President, Gerald Risch, led this initiative with the committees and members in evaluating several different approaches on membership offerings, current market value, and the economic condition. The result was that The Sanctuary restructured the membership offerings by reducing the membership equity fee. “Due to the Club’s strong balance sheet and the member’s secure equity positions The Sanctuary is able to initiate lower fees. Our new equity requirement is much more of an attractive opportunity to prospective members who realize island life and club life can both be achieved on Sanibel/Captiva Islands”, stated Risch.
“The Sanctuary Club is such an incredible place to be. I made the decision to join this year because I know the Club will be around for a long time and I would really like my children to be a part of this wonderful environment,” stated Scot Congress, long time local businessman and newest member.
“The Club prides itself in being the place ‘where you find your best friends’. We recently joined and could not agree more with this statement. The opportunity for membership recently became a reality for us and we couldn’t be more thrilled”, Jim Clemmer, who currently lives in Massachusetts and bought a vacation home on Sanibel Island a few years ago.
In summary, the “new” membership offerings fit the “new” economic environment.
