JUPITER, Fla. – With London coming off its most brutal winter in recent memory and pent up golf demand through the roof, Precision Golf in Surrey has become the latest custom clubmaker to incorporate PURE SPECS technology.
Run by James Davey and Simon Cooper, Precision Golf was already a SST PURE licensee, but integrating the automated PURE SPECS system into their clubmaking facility significantly streamlined their club-building process.
“We are committed to PUREing every club that leaves our studio and in a rapidly growing market the addition of the SST PURE SPECS machine has allowed us to operate not only at a higher capacity but more efficiently,” Davey said.
The patented SST PURE® Shaft Alignment System currently is used by more than 200 professional golfers on the PGA, Champions and European Tours.
“Precision Golf is the closest thing golfers in London have to getting treated and fitted like Tour players,” SST founder Dick Weiss said, “so it’s only fitting for them to install the same state-of-the-art technology we have on our Tour trailer in the United States.”
Using proprietary computer software and sensitive data-acquisition sensors, the SST PURE® shaft aligment process analyzes the structural irregularities that exist to some degree in every golf shaft and locates the shaft’s most stable orientation. By assembling the club with the shaft in its SST PURE® orientation, off-line bending and twisting of the shaft are minimized and impact repeatability on the center of the clubface by the golfer improves measurably. The process can be performed on existing clubs, new clubs or new shafts – steel or graphite – from all major manufacturers.
