Arizona State retains top spot in D-I poll
NEW YORK, NY-The second Golf World/NGCA Division I Coaches’ Poll of the spring season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine and the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA). Arizona State remained the No. 1 team in the poll, earning 22 of the 35 first-place votes. The Sun Devils claimed their third team title of the season with a victory at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational and finished second at the inaugural Bruin Wave Invitational.
UCLA and Auburn held their No. 2 and 3 spots in the poll, with Duke and USC moving up to the fourth and fifth positions.
Entering the top-10 for the first time during the 2009-10 season is Arizona at No. 9. The Wildcats have a second- and a fifth-place showing so far during the spring season, and made the biggest move of any team in the ranking, moving up from the No. 19 spot.
Ohio State (No. 22) and New Mexico (T-23) moved into the top-25.
