Marking the sixth year in a row that this popular course was honored as the #1 course in Oregon for tournaments and corporate events!
AURORA, OREGON – Langdon Farms Golf Club received two #1 rankings in the Portland Business Journal’s 2010 Book Of Lists. For the sixth consecutive year, the popular Langdon Farms Golf Club was ranked as the “#1 Course in Oregon To Host A Tournament or Corporate Event.” The John Fought-Bob Cupp design at Langdon also captured it’s first #1 ranking in the category of “Top Public Courses” in Oregon. Langdon Farms moved up from their #2 ranking in 2009 to top the list of 2010 notables that included the likes of Bandon Dunes, Pumpkin Ridge and Pronghorn, to name a few. Langdon Farms was also included amongst in the top ten most challenging courses in the region. These annual rankings are determined by surveys of readers of Portland Business Journal and were published in the 2010 Book of Lists.
“We are truly honored to be recognized by readers of the Portland Business Journal,” stated Chris and Tom Maletis co-owners of Langdon Farms Golf Club. “On behalf of Langdon Farms Golf Club we both want to sincerely thank our loyal patrons and golfing guests at Langdon Farms and the readers of the Portland Business Journal for voting us #1 in these two categories!”
“Congratulations to ‘Team Langdon Farms’ for being voted #1 in both of these top categories,” stated David Goff vice president of operations for OB Sports Golf Management (the management company overseeing operations at Langdon Farms). “The team certainly takes pride in creating and executing highly successful tournaments and events…as well as creating memorable golf experiences for even the occasional golfer. Your efforts certainly were recognized and lauded – so congrats again,” added Goff.
Rated four out of five stars by Golf Digest’s Best Places To Play for 2009 and ranked as one of the Top Ten Best Courses You Can Play in Oregon by Golfweek Magazine (State-By-State Ranking for 2009-2010) Langdon Farms is home to 18 holes of stunning golf designed by John Fought and Robert Cupp. Langdon Farms Golf Club opened to rave reviews in 1995 and immediately became a favorite in the Portland area. Over the years, the local, regional and even national golf writers have consistently recognized it as a truly unique golf experience. The “Big Red Barn” Clubhouse, winner of Golf Inc’s “Best New Clubhouse” award, was modeled after the original barn on Mr. Langdon’s farm. The original barn, built in 1916, actually comes into play down the left side of the 8th hole. The Big Red Barn clubhouse, creative signage, theme development, and links-style golf course design and maintenance elements have all contributed to the exceptional reputation of Langdon Farms. The golf facility is open, as displayed at the entrance, to the “PUBLIC ONLY” and specializes in hosting tournaments, outings and special events.
