Junior academy in Texas will capitalize on Top-100 Teachers’ System that has helped many juniors rise to No. 1 in the U.S.
MIAMI, Fl (March 15, 2010) – Jim McLean, a Top-100 Teacher (ranked No. 4), and owner of the No. 1 Ranked Golf School in the U.S. is opening a brand new Academy for Junior Golfers and Post Graduates in August at the Jim McLean Golf Center-Texas right in the heart of the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex. But what will set this Academy apart from all of the others will be the quality of the instruction.
“No other golf school required their teachers to undergo the extensive training that Jim McLean demands of his professionals,” said Justin Poynter, the Director of Instruction and General Manager of the Jim McLean Golf Center-Texas. “The process is intensive and lasts between one and two years, depending on the individual.”
And every instructor who will work with students at the new Jim McLean Junior Academy all have completed the intensive training process to become certified Jim McLean instructors.
McLean, who is the only instructor to ever work with a student to attain the No. 1 Junior and Amateur ranking at the same time (Cristie Kerr in the 90s, and most recently 16-year-old phenom Alexis Thompson), has put a program in place designed to help every student achieve their goals and more. “Our instructors are experts at providing personalized instruction and will ensure that the students are placed on the right developmental path for success,” said Poynter. “Our team of coaches regularly train PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour players and they use this information, along with weekly meetings, to continually improve the program.”
Every student enrolled at the new Jim McLean Junior Academy will attend school in the morning, and then work on their golf game from 1-to-5 Monday through Friday. The system in place will provide each student with the ability to play the game of golf while still allowing for individualized differences permitted by McLean’s “Corridors of Success”. Students will be taught by ingraining correct golf movements, the understanding of which begins in the intellect, but must be transferred to the muscles through hitting golf balls and performing the proper drills. Students will also have, at their fingertips, state of the art equipment such as JC Video swing analysis software, Golf BioDynamics, Dynamic Balance System, Trackman, and much more. Students will be taught proper golf nutrition, golf fitness, and have a 9-hole golf course at their disposal.
