The makers of Pure Silk Shave Cream, a Barbasol® brand owned by Perio, Inc, know a good thing when they see it and supporting the LPGA looks like a “hole in one” to them. With extraordinary performance, great follow-through and smooth moves, the women personify the attributes of this first-in-class shave cream. That’s why in 2010 five top LPGA players will be sporting Pure Silk logos on their apparel and golf bags as they claim tournaments and titles all over the globe.
“We are supporting these LPGA players because we believe they represent excellent role models for female athletes nationwide,” said Don Buckingham, Executive Vice President of Perio, Inc. “It is very important to spotlight athletes whom young women and men can look up to and emulate. We hope our sponsorship helps to move these women and the sport further into the public limelight. Pure Silk chose these five talented players to represent the brand because their individuality and ambition continue to define the sport,” said Buckingham. “Pure Silk looks forward to participating on the tour and to following their successes as they bring home new titles and grow the sport.”
Pure Silk is proud to sponsor Brittany Lincicome, a 3-time winner on the LPGA Tour and the reigning major champion of the Kraft Nabisco Championship. Brittany is not only one of the top young golfers in the world and one of the longest drivers in women’s golf, but she is also one of it’s friendliest players.
Pure Silk is also sponsoring Jean Reynolds, an up-and-coming star who will be a rookie on the LPGA Tour in 2010. At the 2009 U.S Women’s Open, Jean gave the golf world a glimpse of her potential when she entered the final round tied for third. She earned her LPGA Tour card on the Duramed Futures Tour by finishing 2nd on the Money List.
Jeong Jang may have been the LPGA Tour’s top Asian player over the past 6 years and one of it’s most consistent, prior to wrist surgery in 2009. Off the course, she has been a pioneer in the way that she has embraced and supported charities in the United States, including Operation Smile and the American veterans of the Korean War. She is a past major champion – the Women’s British Open – and Wegmans LPGA champion.
Free-spirited LPGA Tour veteran, Jill McGill, also among the sponsored players, has accomplished something that very few women have ever done. She won both the US Women’s Amateur Championship and the US Women’s Public Links Championship, the two most prestigious amateur titles in golf. Jill continually gives of herself to various charities and has even gone to Iraq mid-season in support of the American troops.
Stacy Lewis, is not only recognized for her golf resume (NCAA champion, 2007, winner of 12 collegiate tournaments, winner of LPGA Q-school 2008), but she is an inspiration to girls around the world for overcoming physical hardship to become the #1 amateur in the world. Severe scoliosis caused Stacy to wear a back brace for 7 years and finally to have back surgery to implant a metal rod and 5 screws in her back. Stacy may just be the best feel good story in golf.
