BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The oldest and largest two-year golf college in the world, the Golf Academy of America (GAA) announces it is accepting applications for summer enrollment. Summer classes begin May 7, 2010, and will feature a comprehensive curriculum that includes everything from golf course management to business law, and sports merchandising to club repair.
“There are growing opportunities in the golf industry and we’re excited to work with adults, young adults, and high-school graduates who love golf and want a professional golf career,” says Tim Horne, director of admissions at the GAA Carolinas Campus in Myrtle Beach, S.C. “Golf Academy of America has been preparing golf school graduates for golf jobs for more than 30 years and we’re dedicated to providing golfers with the best possible learning experience. Plus, there’s no better time to learn the golf industry than summer.”
The Golf Academy of America’s application offers a simple and user-friendly application process. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, and must complete and submit an GAA enrollment application. In addition, applicants must submit supporting documentation – high school transcript, attestation, or GAA GED attestation; college transcript(s), if applicable; plus, a $50 nonrefundable processing fee ($50 for USA and Canada, or $500 for other than USA and Canada) – within 30 days of applying to complete the admissions process.
Golf Academy of America graduates are working as golf and teaching professionals, club fitters, golf tournament organizers, golf course owners, golf product development specialists and more around the world. Attending GAA helps students qualify for jobs within the $76 billion golf industry.
