LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The new Bionic Performance Series glove has made Golf Digest’s prestigious Hot List and is being cited by the magazine as a category leader in innovation.
“We have put so much technology in this glove that we like to call it a piece of game-improvement equipment. And it’s nice to see that Golf Digest is recognizing the advances and improvements in golf gloves,” said Bill Clark, president of Bionic Gloves.
Paul Azinger, 2008 U.S. Ryder Cup Team Captain, appreciates what Bionic brings to the sport of golf.
“No one’s really explored glove technology until now,” said Azinger, who has been using Bionic since last year. “I think Bionic has done something that’s so cutting edge.”
The new Performance glove by Bionic Gloves has more features than any other glove on the market, which include:
* The Triple-row finger-grip system to provide durability and promote a more comfortable and relaxed grip;
* Elongated surround flexion zones made of stretchable and retractable Lycra to prevent the leather from bunching when closing the hand and act as ventilation to help keep the hand cool and dry;
* Mid-axis longitudinal seam placement which runs up the side of each finger and helps the wearer fight hand fatigue because the finger is not flexing along a seam.
“To be included on the Golf Digest Hot List is an honor,” said Clark. “The Hot List has proven to be a very credible source for golf equipment over the years, and we’re thrilled they’re expanding the list to include gloves.”
For more than a decade, Bionic has been at the forefront of glove technology in many sports – baseball, hockey, fitness (weight lifting), tennis, racquetball, equestrian events and others. The first Bionic golf glove – the Classic – was introduced in 2005. Other models are the Bionic Pro (an ultrathin, tight-fitting glove designed for low handicappers) and the Bionic Silver Series (designed for golfers with arthritis).
Bionic is a division of the family-owned Hillerich & Bradsby, Co., based in Louisville, Ky. Other H&B divisions include PowerBilt, makers of golf clubs since 1916, and Louisville Slugger, the most famous brand of baseball and softball bats and equipment in the world.
