BALTIMORE, MD. – March 25, 2010 – STX, world-renowned for its patented Soft Face Insert Technology, announced today that the company has appointed Calvin Peete Jr. to head up its sales team as the National Sales Manager.
Peete is a talented executive with a variety of work experience. But the one position that groomed him perfectly for this new position was at Callaway Golf where he enjoyed a successful seven year sales career.
Under Peete’s direction, his territory grew in upwards of $36 million dollar in sales which contributed to his distinctive awards. For two years in a row, he was honored with the highly coveted Chairman’s Circle Award, a distinctive award given to sales executives who achieve 90% of their sales goals. In addition, he received the Chuck Yash award, a presidential award for the top sales performer in inside sales.
“Calvin is a highly motivated individual. His zest for excellence can be seen in his Callaway merits but more importantly he knows how to coach, lead, and motivate others,” said Director of Golf at STX, Steve Henneman. “We’re certain he can help STX expand its retail community and overall sales.”
Peete comes to the field of golf naturally. His Dad, known as “Mr. Accuracy” or PGA Professional Calvin Peete Sr., is known for his uncanny accuracy. He won the PGA Accuracy Award for ten consecutive years and won 12 PGA tournaments.
A major factor to STX and its growth for 2010 is to better serve its current dealers as well as grow its domestic distribution.
According to Henneman, “Now that STX has a complete line of new and innovative putters, Calvin is the next step in achieving and attaining our goals.”
