Names highly-talented Marc Barber executive chef
(ASHBURN, VA) – 1757 Golf Club will open the SeventeenFiftySeven Restaurant in its expansive clubhouse on Friday, April 16, featuring authentic, American-style fare with a focus on healthy, freshly-made dishes.
On Waxpool Road and adjacent to Dulles 28 Centre, SeventeenFiftySeven will be open to the public seven days a week. Lunch and dinner are served in its attractive dining room and patio extension overlooking the 18th green, practice area and majestic surrounds. Sunday Brunch begins May 2.
The opening-day dinner menu highlights include Ahi tuna, chicken scaloppini, shrimp scampi and bone-in rib eye. Lunchtime customers will be greeted with 10 different types of sandwiches and several salads. Delectable desserts include chocolate lava cake, fresh macerated strawberries (served in a martini glass with an infused amaretto cream) and cinnamon and apple-baked streusel.
To ensure rave reviews, 1757 Golf Club has named culinary veteran Marc Barber as Executive Chef. In addition to managing kitchen and overall food-and-beverage operations at SeventeenFiftySeven, Barber has created menus for corporate functions, and banquets, weddings and other social events.
“In satisfying even the most discerning palates, SeventeenFiftySeven will fast become a favorite,” says Barber. “Several of our traditional dishes will inject seasonal twists, and this will keep our menu fresh and exciting.”

Managed by Vienna, VA-based Billy Casper Golf (BCG), SeventeenFiftySeven is part of the richly-appointed, 16,000-square-foot clubhouse. Celebrating Virginia’s deep presidential history, event rooms named after state natives George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe and Woodrow Wilson. A bar, boardroom, meetings and banquet space (combined seating for 250 people) make 1757 Golf Club a distinguished venue. The clubhouse also features two outdoor patios and men’s and women’s locker rooms.
SeventeenFiftySeven augments rave reviews for the golf course at 1757. With 10 holes opened in May 2009, the full, 18-hole championship course – expertly designed by architect David Heatwole, formerly with Jack Nicklaus’ design company – is slated for completion and opening in May 2010.
The driving range – with 76 hitting stations, including 20 on grass and lighted for night play – features simulated fairways and target greens. An expansive short-game area includes tees, mini-fairways, bunkers and greens for practice and PGA-certified instruction.
New for 2010, the Golf Tour Trailer provides professional club fitting and repair. The Golf Academy at 1757 – Northern Virginia’s most comprehensive, state-of-the-art golf learning center – is in full-swing with junior summer camps and individual and group instruction.
Named after the year Loudoun County was established, 1757 Golf Club is routed through gently rolling terrain with elevation changes up to 30 feet. Dramatic views of Broad Run and the majestic Virginia landscape keep golfers visually stimulated, and streams and creeks place premiums on shot-making. The course design, featuring bentgrass tee-to-green, calls for golfers to use every club in the bag while offering fair challenges to all handicappers.
