Oklahoma State retains top spot in D-I poll
NEW YORK, NY-The third Golf World/Nike Golf Division I Coaches’ Poll of the spring season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Oklahoma State solidified its hold on the top spot in the poll, earning 20 of the 21 available first-place votes. The Cowboys won their first tournament of the spring, taking the team title at the Linger Longer Invitational to close out March.
Stanford and Washington remained in the No. 2 and 3 positions in the poll, the former grabbing the remaining first-place vote. Texas A&M (No. 4) and Oregon (No. 5) round out the top-five.
UCLA and Illinois joined the top-10, the Bruins jumping into a share of seventh place and the Illini going to No. 10.
LSU returned to the top-25 in the No. 23 spot, winning the Hootie at Bulls Bay tournament.
